How to disassemble and change the clutch, bell and springs on a 50 ?

How to disassemble and change easily the clutch, the clutch bell, the clutch springs and the thrust spring of your MBK Booster, Nitro, Peugeot, Piaggio scooter?

Tools needed:

  • Flat spanners + ratchet with sockets

Duration of operation : 1 hour

Unscrew the clutch bell nut

Unscrew the clutch bell nut using the Easyboost 4-in-1 spanner and a ratchet with a socket.

Remove the clutch bell

Once the nut is released, the clutch bell can be removed to take out the torque drive/clutch assembly.

Remove the torque drive/clutch assembly from the primary transmission shaft, while removing the belt inside the torque drive.

Mark the position of the clutch nut

Using a marker, draw a line across the nut and torque drive so that the nut can be retightened to the original position.

Position the Easyboost 2-in-1 tool

In order to lock the clutch, the 2 in 1 Easyboost holding tool must be positioned around the clutch, taking care to position the 3 stops between the 3 clutch facings.

Loosen the clutch nut

Using the Easyboost 4-in-1 spanner, loosen the clutch nut by only 1/4 turn!

Fitting the Easyboost 2 in 1 spanner

Insert the Easyboost 2 in 1 spanner so that it can exert slight pressure on the clutch.

The clutch nut can now be loosened by hand.

The only thing left to do is to unscrew the nut from the axle to gradually loosen the spring.

Using the Easyboost spring puller, lever the spring out of its housing.

How to fit the clutch springs?

Using the Easyboost spring puller, tension the clutch spring to place it in its housing.

How do I fit the thrust spring?

Repeat the same operations as before in order to compress the thrust spring. Align the 2 flats on the clutch with the 2 flats on the torque drive.

Screw on the clutch nut

Once the clutch has reached its stop, screw on the clutch nut by hand.

Remove the Easyboost 2 in 1 tool

Unscrew the nut so that the Easyboost 2 in 1 tool can be removed.

Tighten the clutch nut

Using the Easyboost 2 in 1 tool and the Easyboost 4 in 1 tool, tighten the nut so that the 2 marks on the nut are aligned.

Refit the torque drive/clutch and clutch bell assembly

Position the torque drive/clutch assembly with the belt on the primary transmission shaft, then refit the clutch bell.

Tighten the clutch bell nut

Using a ratchet and the Easyboost 4-in-1 spanner, tighten the clutch bell nut to complete the operation.
